RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2017 Q&A – World Garden – The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel

Drawing on inspiration from the beauty of Ellen Bidle Shipman’s Moonlight Garden, Sadie has created a garden containing a colour scheme of blues, pinks and creams. Contracted by Sadie May Studios Ltd and sponsored by Brand USA.

Q&A with the garden designer, Sadie May Stowell:

What do you anticipate the biggest challenge of the build to be?

Recreating the facade of Thomas Edison’s office will be one of the biggest challenges of this garden.

What are the stand out feature(s) of the garden?

The stand out features of this garden will be the facade of Edison’s office, and the trellis which will form the boundaries of the garden. As in the original, this garden will include electric lighting which will illuminate it in the early evening light.

Are there any new/unique plants visitors should look out for?

Planting will include subtropical species such as Bougainvillea, jelly palm, Musa, Trachelospermum jasminoides. The Bougainvillea will climb amongst the trellis boundary, and create a striking edge.
