Rt Hon Christopher Pincher MP to open the Pro Landscaper Summit

On Thursday 19 at 5.30, the Pro Landscaper Summit – the highlight of the FutureScape VIRTUAL calendar – will be going live. This year, we are honoured that Right Honourable Christopher Pincher MP Minister of State at The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government will be opening the Summit.

This year, the Pro Landscaper Summit will focus on how the sectors, as well as businesses and business owners, will operate over the next few years – what are the big changes coming?

Post-pandemic, the sector has started to be influenced by sustainability, climate change, poor/low staffing levels, Brexit and all these will continue to affect the sector going forward. Add to this the change in use in the commercial sector, flexible/home working, inevitable tax rises on the horizon, technology changing work practice, and the supply chain.

These are – or could be – challenges, but they also may offer some excellent opportunities for the sector. The appreciation of green spaces and gardens, the development of more green spaces linked to offices, for example. How will the sector operate over the next few years? What do companies need to do to survive and thrive? And where will the funding come from both in the commercial sector and the domestic market?

Tune in tomorrow at 5.30 to find out what the panellists, Marian Barker owner of Fresh Horticultural Careers, David Dodd owner of The Outdoor Room, Tim Howell of Mitie Landscapes, Juliet Sargeant owner of Juliet Sargeant Gardens and Landscapes and John Wyer chief executive of Bowles and Wyer have to say.
