The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show, sponsored by M&G Investments, is pleased to announce that the title of ‘BBC / RHS People’s Choice Award 2015’ in the Show Gardens category has been awarded to ‘Sentebale – Hope in Vulnerability’.
This is the second consecutive year that garden designer Matthew Keightley has won this special award. This year, Keightley designed the garden for Sentebale, the charity founded by Prince Harry, which helps impoverished children in Lesotho, Southern Africa.
The garden, which was awarded a Silver-Gilt, celebrates the opening of the Mamohato Children’s centre in the area and includes a rock and waterscape feature which is representative of the mountainous region in this part of South Africa.
Voting online for their favourite Show Garden, Fresh Garden and Artisan Garden, the general public picked the ‘Breast Cancer Haven Garden’ by designers Sarah Eberle and Tom Hare as the winner of ‘BBC / RHS People’s Choice Award’ in the Artisan category. Ruth Willmott’s ‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer Garden’ scooped the Fresh Garden title.
Trophies were presented to the Artisan and Fresh award winners on their gardens at the Show.
