Frimley Lodge Park in Surrey has won a prestigious Green Flag Award for the 15th year running, officially recognising it as one of the very best in the UK.
The flag is a sign to the public that the space is well-managed, beautifully maintained and offers excellent facilities.
Owned by Surrey Heath Borough Council, the 24 hectare park attracts a large number of visitors with its picnic areas, Pistachios in the Park café, pitch and putt course, children’s playgrounds, trim trail, miniature railway and barbecue and private hire areas.
Other facilities include the recently opened 3G all-weather football pitch, and traditional football and cricket pitches.
Surrey Heath’s portfolio holder for green spaces Cllr Craig Fennell said: “To receive the green flag for 15 years in a row is a fantastic achievement – and well deserved. Well done to our Greenspace team, dedicated volunteers, and our contractors who work hard to look after a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy.
“With the 3G pitch now available to hire too, Frimley Lodge Park just continues to improve!”
The flag was recently unveiled on the new 3G football pitch by Surrey Heath’s Greenspace team, together with the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Joanne Potter.
The Green Flag Awards Scheme is run by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
