TOPSOIL reaches distribution agreement with Boughton Loam

TOPSOIL reaches distribution agreement with Boughton Loam

British Sugar TOPSOIL has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Boughton Loam Ltd, a leading topsoil supplier in the Midlands.

The agreement will see Boughton take over the Topsoil sales and marketing operations for British Sugar from the end of October 2024 and become the exclusive route to market for the Topsoil product range.

The topsoil production operations of British Sugar will remain distinct from this agreement with no changes, but the existing TOPSOIL sales team will transfer to Boughton with both brands and product portfolios continuing as they are.

Boughton, part of the Bennie Group, is based in Kettering with production facilities across the Northamptonshire region.

“We see this as a huge strategic partnership that will ensure both brands grow and support our customers,” says Matthew Ayres, group managing director at Bennie, and Nick Haines, head of commercial operations at British Sugar, in a joint statement.

“This is an exciting time as we aim to bring together the best of two great businesses and enrich our already strong reputations, as we continue to deliver exceptional customer solutions and provide our customers with premium natural soil products across the UK.”

Boughton is one of the few topsoil producers that use certified as dug natural topsoil in its products and the merger between the two businesses together will see the best of both brands.

In a collective statement, the British Sugar TOPSOIL sales team says: “We are looking forward to joining Boughton and combining our years of experience and industry knowledge, as we continue to work with our valued customers to deliver industry leading topsoil products and customer service.”
