Bromley idverde sees work placement uptick

The Bromley branch of idverde has managed to expand its work placement programme, raising its cohort from eight to 13.

The grounds maintenance and landscape creation company puts the increase down to the development of its team and the nature of their core duties.

After recognising a lack of practical conservation skills taught at this level, idverde has built partnerships with organisations such as the Princes Trust, Capel Manor College, as well as local secondary schools.

Susan Holland, conservation and education development manager, at idverde says: “We have found that many applicants for green jobs just don’t have the experience, skills or a base line knowledge of the job.

“So we hope to make it easier for both potential candidates to come more equipped to succeed and for employers to be able to recruit more easily.

“We have already provided work placements for Hadlow College students which have resulted in jobs within our team and are in talks with Capel Manor College to provide work placements for their conservation students from November.”

The company credits the larger number of students with giving it better insight into working with younger aspiring demographics.

It leaves idverde optimistic for the future potential of the landscaping industry.

idverde say: “It sheds light on how the future of the landscaping industry may look and we are pleased to see the potential moving forward!”
