Meadfleet sponsors Butterfly Conservation to support biodiversity
As part of Meadfleet’s Buzz and Flutter campaign, the open space specialists has announced its corporate membership of Butterfly Conservation.
The UK charity is dedicated to protecting butterflies, moths and the habitats they depend on, and marks the next step in Meadfleet’s ongoing commitment to biodiversity.
Paul Cassidy, ecology and conservation manager at Meadfleet says, “butterflies and moths are essential to healthy ecosystems, and their decline signals a wider need for actions,” adding:
“Butterfly Conservation is at the forefront of efforts to protect and nurture wildlife and we are delighted to support their conservation efforts while enhancing the ecological value of the open spaces we manage.”
The Buzz and Flutter campaign is set to action planting 150 oak trees, creating wildflower beds, planting 100,000 flowering bulbs and adding native hedgerow across Meadfleet’s 350 housing developments in England and Wales.
Natalie Bridge, director of fundraising, marketing and communications at Butterfly Conservation explains she is “very grateful” for the partnership, adding:
“Partnerships like this are vital; they enable us to continue our work protecting butterflies, moths, and the habitats they rely on. Only through such collaboration can we create lasting change for nature and future generations.”
The Buzz and Flutter campaign was initially announced in April.
