Creepers Nursery research reveals emerging trends in garden design

Research by Creepers Nursery has found that the emerging trends in garden design reflect a strong shift towards sustainability, nature-centric layouts, and resilience against climate challenges.

The nursery, which has bases in Surrey, Hampshire and London, took advantage of the SGD Spring Conference to gather insights from the garden designers present about current trends.

The results of the survey, which involved 50 garden designers, also highlighted a collective move towards more environmentally conscious and low-maintenance gardens that not only cater to aesthetic values but also prioritise ecological benefits.

Rob Ryall, managing director at Creepers Nursery says: “Having attended the last two SGD conferences, we’ve always found them to be excellent events with an engaged audience.

“This year, we decided to use our exhibition space to gather insights from garden designers on trends and planting preferences which we’re now delighted to share with the wider industry.”

The survey clearly shows that today’s garden designers are not just creating spaces that are visually appealing but are deeply invested in the environmental impact and sustainability of their designs.

As we move forward, these trends are likely to shape not just individual gardens but the broader landscape of urban and suburban environments, promoting a greener, more sustainable approach to living with nature.

The nursery has previously had staff feature in our 30 Under 30: The Next Generation winners, with Sam Botham winning in 2022.
