Europlanters shows off first Parklet at Outdoor Living & Wellness Expo

Europlanters is showcasing its new concept, the Parklet, at this year’s Outdoor Living & Wellness Expo, which is co-located with FutureScape in partnership with CED Stone.

Parklets aim to bring a small park into an urban setting to not only create some greenery but offer a focal point and meeting place within a city.

They could be set up outside a café or pub or street food pop ups just to offer some seating and shade and will also have bike stands and offer charging points for your mobile devices.

Speaking on LinkedIn, Europlanters’ owner John Wilkes said he was looking forward to showcasing the company’s “first Parklet” at at the Outdoor Living & Wellness Expo, taking place at the ExCeL London today and tomorrow.

“If you’re not sure what a Parklet is all about then come and see us on Stand M54. If you’re a city landscaper then this could be right up your street.”

A major benefit to Parklets is that they are temporary structures so only need bare planning permission to install from the council, who in turn benefit as it can facilitate their need to add green spaces.

The designs will be mostly based on Europlanters’ standard planter range to keep prices down.

It says that a rough guide on cost is that the stand design would be less than £10,000 delivered and erected while planting is extra and often done by the local community.
