Christmas at Kew Gardens returns
The festive light trail returns to Kew Gardens in London this festive season with new illuminating landscapes.
This year’s Christmas at Kew celebrates nature by night, highlighting the botanical gardens natural architecture with ‘illuminating enchantment’.
The celebrations will feature bespoke installations making their UK debut, including Lili by TILT, three-metre-high illuminated flowers, 400 cascading lights adjacent to neon backdrops, and ArtAV returns with Trapezoid, one of the longest light tunnels to feature at Kew. Creative studio Pitaya returns to Kew with Spark Ballet, 24 illuminated lanterns and 100 candles suspended in the air, lighting up the iconic tree-lined passageways to create an ‘enchanting festive atmosphere’ says Kew.
Many of Kew’s 12,000 trees and other botanical highlights will feature within the festive celebrations, suitable for the whole family to attend.
Sandra Botterell, director of marketing and commercial enterprise at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, says: “Christmas at Kew is a magical celebration of Kew’s natural landscape, offering sparkle and festivities during the winter months. With an incredible range of brand-new installations and some returning favourites, this year’s trail is guaranteed to be a seasonal spectacle like no other.”
An assortment of independent seasonal street food vendors will offer festive food and drink. Visitors can also book a Christmas dinner at The Botanical Brasserie.
