eWeeding has been given the FutureScape Innovation Award today in London after careful deliberation between the judges during the Public Spaces Expo.
The awards were judged under a criteria covering innovation and originality, impact on its landscape, sustainability and environmental responsibility, functionality and usability.
Each product was presented to the four judges ahead of their deliberation. Judges included landscape designer Nilufer Danis, landscape contractor Justin Himpson, landscape architect Alistair Bayford and Jo Reid, head of contracts and services at Mid Sussex District Council.
Shortlisted products included eeziQS’s system management, Carl Stahl Architecture solutions, Huck Nets and Grator steep slope mowers were put forward for the FutureScape Innovation Award.
The winning product is designed for professionals who are responsible for public green space, which uses electricity to cause damage to cells which results in long-lasting results for weeds.
On judging the award, Himpson says the process is “a great opportunity to see new projects on the market”.
Danis also adds that it is good to see international products which can be highlighted within the UK.
FutureScape continues tomorrow, Wednesday 8 October, at Excel London and free tickets can be found here.
