Finalists revealed for Landscape Institute Awards 2026

Finalists revealed for Landscape Institute Awards 2026

The finalists for the Landscape Institute Awards 2026 have been announced.

From the UK and across the world, finalists cover the breadth of the profession, “from large-scale masterplanning and regeneration to research, management and the work of students just starting out,” says the Landscape Institute (LI).

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 13 November at The Brewery in London.

For the first time, one finalist will be celebrated with Highly Commended for every category.

Dr Saira Ali, president of the LI, comments on the announcement:

“These finalists show a profession telling its story with real confidence. Every one of them is proof of what talent, partnership and a shared vision can achieve and of how a landscape-led approach creates places that are more resilient, more nature-rich and better for the people who use them.”

The Landscape Institute (LI) hosted its award ceremony on 14 November, handing out awards across 17 categories, including the President’s Award to Dark Skies Working Group Wales.

Presented by the president of the LI, Caroline Göhler, the President’s Award represents the best landscape project of the year.

Awarded for its publication, Good Practice Guidance: Planning for the Conservation and Enhancement of Dark Skies in Wales, the Group also took home Excellence in Landscape Planning and Assessment category.

Jill Bullen, lead specialist advisor, landscape, natural resources Wales and Dark Skies Working Group chair comments on the wins:

“Encouraging dark sky lighting and reducing light pollution is something we can all do right now to protect dark skies and dark landscapes, benefitting wildlife and our wellbeing.

Winning both the President’s Award and the Excellence in Landscape Planning and Assessment award for ‘Planning for Dark Skies’ takes the Good Practice Guidance to a new level of awareness, reach and opportunity to truly make a difference.”

Hosted by horticulturalist and presenter Frances Tophill, the ceremony was celebrated with professionals across the industry.
