From a major rebrand to a new collection that marks a return to its roots, London Stone’s managing director reveals everything that’s on the horizon.
Can you tell us about London Stone’s new stone range?
Over the last few years, the business grew quickly, particularly through Covid. In that time our priority had to be fulfilment and infrastructure, making sure we could keep delivering for customers.
I’ll be honest, during that period our energy naturally went into operations and service. Product development didn’t stop, but it wasn’t getting the spotlight it deserved.
So, this new stone range is us going back to our roots. Refocusing on materials and design, and doing what we love most, helping people create beautiful gardens.
Curating this range has been a real team effort, we’ve listened to what landscapers and designers need on site and built the range around that. The new stone range lands very soon, so keep an eye out for that!
What are some of the key characteristics of the range that set it apart in the market?
The range introduces a wide selection of several new limestones in finishes including sawn, tumbled, sandblasted, brushed and antiqued.
It also covers paving, pavers, setts, steps, cladding and walling. We previewed much of it at our Evening with London Stone events in the middle of February and the feedback was really positive.
The new size format is really where this range comes to life. We’ve moved away from the old back-breaking 900×600 slabs and introduced a smaller, more tactile format that feels current and works beautifully in modern garden design.
The sizes are designed to maximize block yield and make use of all available material, dramatically reducing waste. That means faster production, lower environmental impact, and better pricing for customers.
It ticks every box: On trend, easier to handle on site, better for the planet and better value, all without compromising on performance or aesthetics.
With a rebrand on the horizon, what was the inspiration behind this decision?
Styles change, expectations change, and we never want to stand still. We’ve been trading for 17 years now, so we’re no longer the new kids on the block. I felt it was the right time to refresh the brand.
The new logo reflects a move towards more tactile materials, warmer colours and a more rustic, natural feel, while still respecting the heritage of London Stone. It also aligns closely with our growing focus on sustainability.
We see it as an important part of the next chapter of the business.
How does the new website fit into this rebrand?
We’ve partnered with a leading ecommerce agency, and the new website takes our digital offering to another level. It will look great, but the real value is in the functionality.
Customers can expect enterprise-level features, an industryleading checkout, much stronger search so they can find what they need quickly, and account access where they can view orders and paperwork in one place.
We’re also completely overhauling our image library, which will make browsing products far more inspiring and useful. Ultimately, it’s all about making life a lot easier for our customers. The website went live the week commencing the 2 March.
London Stone has also recently launched CPD courses for garden designers. Can you tell us more?
Helping to raise standards in the industry has always been important to us.
We want to give landscape professionals the knowledge they need to design and build better gardens, so we’ve launched five CPD sessions covering everything from bespoke stone and material selection through to installation guidance and maintenance.
They’re open to garden designers, landscapers and anyone in the industry who wants to learn more. It’s another way we’re supporting the people who use our products.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
We’re also opening a new showroom in April just outside Wimbledon, taking us to 10 showrooms nationwide, which we’re very proud of.
Hard landscaping materials form the foundation of any garden and represent a significant investment, so we believe people deserve a place where they can explore materials properly and get expert advice.
It’s all part of making it easier for our customers to create beautiful gardens.
Finally, I just want to say thanks to our customers for their continued support, and give a big shout out to our brilliant team and wish everyone in the landscaping industry a successful 2026.

The landscaping trade is built on practical skills, shared knowledge, and a strong sense of collaboration. At Millboard, we aim to support landscapers not just through high-quality products, but by providing training, technical advice, and opportunities to connect with others in the industry. From hands-on courses to ongoing guidance and industry partnerships, our focus is on helping professionals deliver great results and build sustainable careers.
Launching the Millboard Training Academy at London Stone
One of our proudest recent developments is the launch of the Millboard Training Academy in collaboration with London Stone. This strategic partnership provides a dedicated, hands-on training environment where landscapers can become Millboard approved installers. Based at London Stone’s trade centre in Birmingham, in the West Midlands, the academy offers structured modules that cover best practices for installation and product integration.
Attendees benefit from practical experience with Millboard’s unique decking and cladding products—learning techniques that ensure durability, safety, and an exceptional finish. The sessions are delivered by our own product specialists and are tailored for both newcomers and experienced professionals who want to expand their offering and stand out in a competitive market.
Supporting installer training with Task Academy
We work with Task Academy to offer base-level training and Millboard product overviews, helping landscapers build a solid foundation of knowledge before taking on more advanced projects. These sessions introduce key concepts around installation, product handling, and design integration—providing a useful starting point for those new to Millboard or to the industry more broadly.
While Task Academy independently delivers a range of courses—including those focused on subframes—we actively support and promote their training as a valuable step for installers looking to gain confidence and improve their overall understanding of decking systems.
On-Site and remote technical guidance
Complex builds require more than just product—it takes expertise. That’s why Millboard provides detailed advice and support for challenging projects, both on-site and remotely. Whether it’s working through a bespoke curved design, managing tricky elevation changes, or integrating with other materials such as stone or metal, our technical team is on hand to help.
Through phone consultations, video walkthroughs, and in-person visits, we help installers troubleshoot, plan, and execute their visions with confidence.
Investing in the future through corporate social responsibility and education
We’re also committed to making training more accessible through corporate social responsibility initiatives that provide opportunities for those who may not typically have access to the landscape industry. One recent example is our involvement in a meaningful project in collaboration with TASK Academy, Lucy Bravington Design, the Stratford Youth Collective (SYC), and New Meaning Training. Over the past few months, TASK and Lucy Bravington have been working with young people who came away from school without the qualifications they need to progress, to help develop practical skills and build confidence through hands-on training.
To support the project, Lucy Bravington has generously volunteered her time to design a new garden for the youth centre. The students have been actively involved from the early stages, sharing ideas and shaping the vision—making this a truly collaborative effort.
Millboard is suppling our resin mineral composite decking for this initiative—an inspiring collaboration that not only helps develop practical skills using real products but also offers young people a glimpse into the possibilities within the landscaping industry.
Supporting the industry through membership and sponsorship
Millboard is a proud member of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) and British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) — two of the UK’s most respected landscaping organisations. Through these memberships, we stay closely connected with the issues, innovations, and aspirations that shape our sector.
We are also enthusiastic sponsors of awards run by BALI and Pro Landscaper, backing categories that shine a spotlight on emerging landscapers and exceptional projects. These awards play a vital role in recognising hard work, elevating standards, and motivating excellence.
Creating opportunities to connect
A spirit of collaboration is at the heart of landscaping, and we aim to foster it through events that bring people together. Our annual open event is a calendar highlight, drawing landscapers, designers, and suppliers from across the UK. This informal yet impactful event provides opportunities to connect, learn, and share ideas in a collaborative atmosphere.
Promoting landscapers and connecting them with customers
Through our approved installer scheme, we not only train and certify skilled landscapers, but we actively promote them. Our website features a dedicated directory where homeowners and commercial clients can search for trusted professionals in their area. We regularly pass on project enquiries and highlight installer work across our marketing channels.
This creates real business opportunities for our installers and demonstrates to clients the quality and professionalism that comes with choosing Millboard decking and cladding products.
Engaging with the industry at trade shows

Events like FutureScape give us an essential platform to meet with the wider trade community. At these shows, we host live product demos, offer installation advice, and showcase new innovations. These gatherings are invaluable for keeping our finger on the pulse of the industry and helping us stay responsive to landscapers’ evolving needs.
Building with confidence: Product knowledge at the core
Underpinning everything is our commitment to product knowledge. Whether it’s understanding the qualities of our unique resin mineral board composition or knowing how to integrate our edging profiles seamlessly, we ensure that installers have the knowledge to succeed. From video guides to in-person support, we’re here to equip landscapers with the tools they need to deliver top-quality results.
Millboard’s support for landscapers is about more than supply—it’s about partnership, empowerment, and progress. We are proud to play our part in training the trade, elevating standards, and building a more connected and capable industry. Through education, support, celebration, and collaboration, we’re helping landscapers not only meet expectations but exceed them.

Carbon Footprint has accredited London Stone as a carbon-neutral company.
Back in 2021, the business, which claims it is the first UK hard landscaping supplier to achieve carbon-neutral status, began working with Carbon Footprint to “identify areas for improvement, which were then rectified, and resulted in the company running as sustainably as possible”.
London Stone managing director Steven Walley said, “The thought of leaving the planet in a worse shape than when we inherited it, with fewer sanctuaries and less habitat for wildlife, is unthinkable. We have a duty to slow and ultimately reverse the environmental destruction that humans have inflicted so that future generations can enjoy the natural world as much as we have. The biggest threat right now is carbon emissions, so that’s why reducing our carbon footprint is our number one priority.”
According to London Stone, Carbon Footprint’s audit also highlighted areas where some carbon emissions are unavoidable, such as sea freight and haulage. “These emissions cannot be eradicated, so they are balanced out through investment in carbon offsetting projects, making all London Stone products and materials carbon neutral,” said the supplier.
London Stone is said to be supporting multiple carbon offsetting projects in India, where much of their natural stone is sourced, to complement their existing corporate social responsibility programmes.
The company has committed to a year-on-year reduction in its carbon footprint and is “using offsetting as a tool whilst waiting for technological advancement, and government infrastructure support”, which it hopes will eventually further enable emission reductions in the aforementioned areas.
Walley added, “We’d be failing though if carbon neutral commitment was just about us. Feedback from our customers tells us that we’re not alone in wanting to tread more lightly on our planet. They, too, want to commit to tackling our climate crisis but often don’t know how or where to start. We will help with this. We will be releasing information on how we can help raise environmental standards for landscapers, designers and other suppliers across the industry and will publish a series of blogs that explain our carbon-neutral journey.”
London Stone said it will be working with several industry peers, personalities and organisations to help encourage more carbon-reducing practices, with Landform Consultant’s Mark Gregory named as the supplier’s first ‘Green Ambassador’.
Gregory said: “I am incredibly proud to support London Stone in their carbon-neutral journey. We all need to pay closer attention to the way we treat our planet. As someone who has committed their life to working with, renovating, regenerating, and improving exterior spaces, it is fantastic to know that, for the first time, there is a hard landscaping supplier that is committed to helping minimise the impact that we have on our world. The landscaping industry must act as a guardian to our exterior spaces, there is much that can be done, and with London Stone taking the lead, I only hope many others will follow.”
