Over a third of Brits support ban on petrol mowers

According to new data collected by MyBuilder.com, the reliable way to hire tradespeople, 35% of people in the UK would support a full ban on petrol mowers due to the environmental damages.

In comparison to other European countries, the British felt the most strongly that petrol mowers should be banned.

While 37% of men involved supported the ban, 32% of women were in favour.

Those aged 18-34 felt strongly about the ban with 49% in favour, while those located in London also strongly supported the ban.

Other research from MyBuilder.com has shown that 33% of Brits would like log burners banned, and 36% would support a ban on artificial grass, both cited to environmental concerns.

Andy Simms, an expert from MyBuilder.com says “petrol mowers are still extremely popular in this country, but it seems likely that Brits will move away from using them. Some local authorities are already imposing restrictions on petrol-powered tools, and it’s more than possible others will follow”.

The experts suggest other, greener, ways to maintain a lawn. These include the use of electric mowers, robot mowers or simply not mowing, which is mostly encouraged during No Mow May.
