French courtyard inspires new Horsham hotel garden plans
Formerly a pub in Horsham, West Sussex, Mucky Duck has received planning approval for its transformation into a hotel and restaurant alongside a landscaped courtyard garden.
Heading up the landscape masterplan, Studio Loci will create a series of intimate garden rooms reflecting that of a French courtyard design.

Once used as a car park, the space will be reimagined as a green courtyard enclosed with brick and stone walls, pleached trees and hedged structures.
The Horsham pub closed in September 2023, as its redevelopment will include three buildings.
The former pub building will contain a bar, restaurant, entertainment areas and guest rooms; The Old House will contain more guest rooms; and The Ducklings Annexe will contain five guest rooms, a suite, communal areas and space for staff.
There will be a walled parking area within the rear garden for 36 covered car parking spaces.
