Pye Homes plant 600 bulbs with Radley community
Pye Homes has hosted a community daffodil planting event at its Church Farm development in Radley, Oxfordshire, which saw 600 bulbs planted throughout its shared spaces.
Earlier this month, 25 residents gathered at the development to plant bulbs at the entrance and along the main road that leads into the estate, focusing on communal grass verges and tree bases.
When fully completed, the Church Farm development will comprise of 240 homes with natural green spaces, and community areas including a playground, community orchard and natural green spaces, for public gatherings or casual meet ups.
“It’s been amazing to see the community come together for this daffodil planting event. We all take great pride in our shared spaces, and it’s wonderful to be part of a project that will bring a splash of colour to our neighbourhood in the spring,” says Sarah Turner, a resident and member of Church Farm Green Spaces Group.
“This event has really shown how much we can achieve when we work together, and I’m excited to see the results of our efforts brighten up the estate for everyone to enjoy.
“I hope this is just the beginning of many more initiatives that enhance the beauty of our surroundings and bring people closer together.”
The house builder has paired traditional materials with contemporary design, alongside plenty of innovative features, to ensure the homes are adaptable for everyone.
Graham Flint, Pye Homes managing director, says: “This initiative aimed to beautify the local environment and create a vibrant display of daffodils in the spring, whilst also bringing the community together.
“This event is part of Pye Homes’ broader commitment to sustainability and community engagement, and is just one of many ongoing efforts to support the creation of green, healthy, and sustainable communities.”
