Chelsea rainforest garden finds new home at Bristol Zoo Project
The award-winning Wildlife Trusts’ British Rainforest Garden from RHS Chelsea Flower Show has been relocated to Bristol Zoo Project, bringing rainforest landscapes to the Bristol area for the first time.
Designed by Zoe Claymore and sponsored by Project Giving Back, the garden won RHS’s People’s Choice award in the All About Plants category back in May.
Rehomed by Bristol Zoological Society, a conservation education charity which runs Bristol Zoo Project, the garden can be found in the zoo’s sanctuary garden.
Claymore says the garden’s relocation “feels incredibly special,” adding:
“This garden was designed to spark wonder and connection, to remind people that rainforests aren’t just faraway places, but part of our own landscape here in Britain. It’s exciting this garden will grow alongside this fantastic 100—year programme to safeguard these rainforests for the future.”
Featuring native trees and accessible pathways with seating, the garden encourages visitors to sit and read the signage about temperate rainforests, backed by Aviva.
