Newly launched ‘The King’s Rose’ wins Gold at Chelsea

During its debut at RHS Chelsea this week, The King’s Rose, named after His Majesty King Charles III, has been awarded a Gold medal.

Its 29th Gold medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, rose breeder David Austin Roses created the new variety in collaboration with The King’s Foundation.

Unveiled at their secret garden-themed display alongside 50 different varieties, it is the breeders largest display at RHS Chelsea.

Chairman David J.C Austin explains “this year’s unveiling offers a unique opportunity to be among the first to see the prestigious rose.”

Grown in His Majesty’s private garden for three years, the rose is on display in The Great Pavilion for the duration of the flower show.

The new pink and white coloured variety produces semi-double, repeat-flowering blooms with at least 20 buds per stem.

While being on display, the rose can also be found at the Highgrove Shop stand on Eastern Avenue with more information here.
