Scone Palace Garden Fair returns this weekend
Set to take place this weekend (30 – 31 May) at the Scone Palace Garden Fair, the annual Scottish Garden Design Competition returns with a debut Showcase Garden category.
This year’s competition champions the theme of ‘Hope’ and will be judged across two categories of gardens for the first time. Joining the new Showcase Garden category, the Small Space Gardens category will also return.
There is also an opportunity for visitors to vote for their favourite garden to win the People’s Choice Award 2025.
This year’s finalists include Isabel Hardman’s Renewal Garden, sponsored by Glenmore Nurseries and Winchburgh Developments Ltd. The Showcase Garden is inspired by the shale spoil heaps and the legacy of over 100 years of shale extraction.
Other finalists includes Olga Runcie’s Find Your Path garden and David G Pullar’s Reflection garden.
Sponsored by Dobbies Garden Centres, the garden fair’s weekend will also feature a line-up of over 60 exhibitors, gardening workshops with the Beechgrove presenters, a new farmer’s market and expert talks.
New for 2025, children under 16 will be able to enter the garden festival for free, as it encourages children into the gardening community and connect with nature alongside its kid’s zone.
