The Coles Centenary Open Day: The Future of Amenity Plant Supply in the UK

Following on from our successful TreeFest celebration in 2006, Unearthed in 2008 and Bare-Roots in 2012, we are pleased to announce this year’s event: The Coles Centenary Open Day: The Future of Amenity Plant Supply in the UK, taking place on the 19 September 2013.

The Coles Centenary Open Day, taking place at our 250 acre growing site in Gaddesby, Leicester, will include Practical Demonstrations, Seminars and Nursery Tours. The day provides an ideal platform for networking with other industry professionals, as well as enabling the visitor to experience nursery stock at first hand, unlocking the mysteries of plant specification and quizzing the growers themselves, whilst taking an in-depth look at what the future may have in store for the industry.

The day will be targeted primarily at Landscape Architects, Wholesale Nurseries, Arboriculturists, Landscapers & Contract Managers, Grounds & Park Staff, Planners and Estate Managers from across the UK.

With speakers including Tim Calnan (C S Design) on The Future With BIM, Penny Evans (HTA) on Promoting Careers in Horticulture, Wayne Grills (BALI) on Skill Shortages Affecting the Landscape Industry and James Hayes (Bulrush Horticulture) on Peat Free/Reduced Substrates, the day is sure to get minds thinking about where the industry will be in five, ten or even fifty years.

As an additional feature, Aston Martin will also be attending on the day as part of their centenary celebrations, showing off their new Vanquish and offering one lucky guest the chance to have a tour of the factory in Gaydon, an invite only opportunity and a drive in the Vanquish!!

To register you interest in attending this event, please contact Marketing Manager, Harry Hitchcock by email: [email protected], or call 0116 241 2115.
