Self-financing charity The Parks Trust has received a prestigious Green Flag Award for the second year in a row. This was awarded for all of the parks, woodlands and lakes the Trust manages and maintains across Milton Keynes.
The Parks Trust continues to be the only recipient of the award for a complete network of parks across a whole town or city.
This international award, now into its third decade, is confirmation that The Parks Trust’s green spaces across the city are of the highest possible environmental standards, are beautifully maintained and have excellent visitor facilities.
David Foster, chief executive of The Parks Trust, commented: “We are very proud to have received the Green Flag Award for the second year in a row. Milton Keynes is increasingly renowned for the high-quality parkland across the city and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining the green space to such a good standard for everyone to enjoy.”
International Green Flag Award scheme manager, Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme, with more Green Flags awarded this year than last year.”
“Each flag honours the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. We are proud to have so many wonderful green spaces in the UK for people to enjoy, and hope that next year, we award even more flags.”
