(uncommon) designs floating garden for Amiens

Landscape design practice (uncommon) has designed a floating garden for the Art, Villes & Paysages exhibition in Amiens, France this summer.

The theme of the garden is ‘Banlieue’, the often troubled suburbs of France’s major cities, typified by the large-scale HLM housing blocks. (uncommon)’s approach is to design a floating garden, where the sky will be reflected in the water and plants will grow down towards it. The enclosure of the garden, which will be accessible only by boat, will be printed with images of the buildings of the banlieue.
