What were the highlights of 2022?

It has been a rollercoaster of a year, with arguably more lows than highs. But there have been highs – and this has perhaps been a year when the green agenda has been fought for most vocally too. When there were rumours of Liz Truss watering down or even scrapping the Environmental Land Management schemes, there was uproar from wildlife charities as well as the public. She was accused of an attack on nature and environmental vandalism.

To celebrate the late Queen’s jubilee earlier this year before Her Majesty sadly passed away, a nationwide tree planting scheme – the Queen’s Green Canopy – was launched for the year. And her son King Charles III is said to be even more focused on the environment, which could mean positive changes ahead.

For the landscaping industry, there were a plethora of awards won and milestones celebrated too. So, we asked our readers to send us their highlights of this year.
